Wind-Posts are a structural element made of galvanized steel that can be installed during the construction of masonry walls to increase wall panel’s lateral stability against horizontal forces, mainly imposed by wind, crowd or handrail loads.

Wind posts span vertically between floors then fixed with specifically designed top and bottom connection plates to suit most requirements – e.g. bolting to a timber joist at the top and concrete floor at the bottom, wind posts may be used for example either side of a bi-fold type door or into the cavity of long un-buttressed walls.

At WP|WindPost we manufacture wind posts from galvanised square hollow section steel with a variety of top and bottom connections to choose from to suit the requirements of your build. The windpost can also be supplied with a pack of masonry ties to tie the post into the masonry wall mortar joints.

Windposts span vertically between floors to provide additional lateral support for large panels of brickwork or large panels with openings. WP|WindPost manufactures several types of “top” and “bottom” attachments which customise the wind post to suit the arrangements of the walls and timbers for your project. All windposts are required to have base and top connections to fix back to the structure of the building, and masonry ties to support brick or block walls.
